Muriel D. Boutilier, 70, of Merrimack and formerly of Manchester, died January 9, 2019 at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Manchester on February 21, 1948 the daughter of Lionel and Laurette (Ducharme) Tancrede. She lived most of her life in the Queen City where she was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of St. George High School Class of 1967.
She was employed for many years as a workman’s compensation clerk at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic. During her daughters’ school years, she was very involved with the West High School Music Boosters and the West Side Jr. Deb Softball League. Muriel was a homebody who enjoyed baking her famous pistachio cake and working on a challenging jigsaw puzzle. Those hobbies, however, took a back seat to cheering on her beloved Red Sox to their most recent World Series Championship. She loved her children and grandchildren above all else and enjoyed getting together with family and friends. She will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.
Members of her family include her four daughters Robin Gagnon and her husband Howard of Goffstown, Jeanne Boutilier also of Goffstown, Kelly Spratt and her husband Gregory of Concord and Tracy Perez and her husband Omar of El Cajon, CA, her grandchildren Sarah, Joshua, Jacob, Madison, Ethan, Isaac and Aubrey, her brothers Robert Tancrede and his wife Cheryl of Claremont and Marc Tancrede and his wife Laura of Litchfield as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday January 14 from 4 to 7 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday January 15 at 10 am at the Parish of the Transfiguration 305 Kelley St. in Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Muriel’s name be made to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) Financial Management Branch NSC Building, Room 3280, 6001 Executive Blvd. MSC 9531, Bethesda, MD 20852-9531.
