

Olga Liakas, 92, passed away February 11, 2015 at Pleasant View Healthcare Center after a period of failing health. She was born in Manchester on August 24, 1922, the daughter of Evangelos and Theodora (Gallos) Kalapanidas.
She was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Central High School. Olga was employed for many years by GTE Sylvania until her retirement in 1987.
She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the Anagenessis Ladies Society.
Her family will cherish her loving memory and remember her as the best grandmother ever.
Her husband, Vasilios Liakas died in 1972.
Family members include a daughter, Constance Tsirovakas and her husband Hercules of Epsom; a son, Ernest Liakas and his wife Denise of Belmont; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Her sister Mrs. George (Helen) Bolianites of Lowell MA passed away on the same day as Olga.
A visitation was held Tuesday February 17th from 8:30 am to 9:30 am in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. The Trisagion service was held at 9 AM. A procession traveled to St. George Cathedral, 650 Hanover St. where a ceremony was held at 10 AM. Father Michael Wilson officiated. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery.
