Born on June 25, 1945 in Sanford, Maine, she was the daughter to the late Alphy Sweeney and Dorothy Ridley. Pamela was educated through the Maine public system for grammar school and graduated from Spaulding High School in Rochester, NH. In her professional career, she proudly served as a Secretary of the Manchester Transit Authority for 41 years.
Pamela had many passions in life including gardening, consignment shopping, traveling to Ohio to visit her daughter, making her famous biscuits, beans and corn muffins and spending time with family. She was a very soft spoken woman, but her love for others spoke loudly into the hearts of all who knew her. Anyone who entered her home felt loved and accepted, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild, whom she adored tremendously. She never missed out on an opportunity to be with her family and would make it to as many of their events as possible. She took pride in the way she cared for her home and enjoyed changing the décor with every season. Whether it was tablecloths, nic-nacs or curtains, she loved to embrace the holidays and give her own creative flare for others to enjoy.
Pamela is survived by her two daughters; Paulette O’Dowd and her husband Steve of Lima, OH and Cheryl Godbout-Bloom and her husband Daniel of Manchester, NH; sisters Faye Lowrey of Farmington, NH and Elaine Needham of Dover, NH; two grandchildren, James O’Dowd and Olivia O’Dowd; great grandchild, Sophia O’Dowd; and many loving friends and family.
A visitation for Pamela will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH 03104; including a funeral service at 4:30pm.
