Patricia J. Avila

She grew up in Anderson Indiana and graduated from St Anthony’s Hospital in Terre Haute Indiana for School of Nursing in 1959.

She was a RN (Registered Nurse) for 62 years. The last 25 years were at Manchester Urology and associates.

She was a dedicated member of St Josephs Cathedral in Manchester NH, and stayed with her faith even through the toughest of times. When she wasn’t caring for people, patients and the sick, she spent a lot of her time at Precious Blood Monastery in prayer.

She absolutely loved being a Nurse, it was her passion and her Love. She loved caring for people and especially her patients. She brought a compassion and love for the people she was caring for and showed this with the gentleness in her actions and in her words.

Her time here on earth was always that of a caregiver in any capacity she could. It didn’t matter the situation, or the person. She was known VERY well for her directness and honesty. It was the core that she lived by and instilled upon others.

She cherished the time she spent with her son, grandchildren, family, friends, and patients.

She is survived by her son Antonio Avila, 7 grandchildren Antonio Avila Jr. (Alex), Veronica Avila, Ashley, Austin, Maddie, Lexi and Morgan; Brother Robert Carraway, Sisters Phyllis Brown, Mary Carraway and many loving nieces and nephews and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Dennis Avila, her sisters; Joyce Petit and Janice Carraway.

Services to include: Calling Hours between 4pm-7pm on Monday June 21, 2021 at McHugh Funeral Home, 483 Beech Street at the corner of Hanover Street in Manchester NH.

The funeral will be from the funeral home on Tuesday June 22, 2021 at 9:30am. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St Joseph’s Cathedral at 145 Lowell Street in Manchester NH at 10am.

A procession from the church will follow to Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 474 Goffstown road Manchester NH.

Flowers will be accepted and donations may be made in Mrs. Avila’s memory to the Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery at 700 Bridge Street Manchester, NH 03104.
