Raoul Antonio D’Anjou, known to many as Tony, of Winchendon, Massachusetts, passed away at home on June 17, 2026, at the age of 94. Born November 6, 1931, in Nashua, New Hampshire, Tony lived a long life marked by steady devotion to family, faith, and the work he took pride in doing well.
Tony lived much of his life in Bedford, New Hampshire, and the surrounding communities. He graduated from West High School and went on to serve nine years in the National Guard. He later became co-owner and machinist at Manchester Engine Rebuilders, Inc., where his skill and reliability were evident until his retirement. A longtime member and usher at St Elizabeth Seton Church, Tony’s presence there reflected a quiet constancy and a deep respect for community.
In the everyday joys of life, Tony found plenty to savor. He loved Chinese food, enjoyed bowling, and treasured roller skating with his family. He took up painting after attending Bob Ross classes with his daughter, and he could often be found watching football, baseball, and Nascar racing. Tony was also a longtime member of the IPMS/Granite State Modelers, and he was, by all accounts, one heck of a poker player—regularly sharing card games with family and friends, where his sharp mind and good humor were always welcome. In retirement, Tony and his wife enjoyed traveling together with a camper, making time for simple adventures and shared companionship.
Tony is survived by his wife of almost 71 years, Lucie (Lavigne) D’Anjou; his children, Donald & Angela (Karcz) D’Anjou, Collette Ridenour, Renee D’Anjou, and Diane and Dale Comeau; and his grandchildren, Kevin & Lisa (Sanchez) Paquette, James & Lindsay (Harding) Mastenbrook, Stephanie (Mastenbrook) & Michael Burke, Kyle Comeau, Daniel & Jasmin (Hook) D’Anjou, Michelle (D’Anjou) & Jeff Mack, and Julie (Karcz) & Filipe Marques. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Antonio Paquette, Vivianna Marques, Nova Mastenbrook, and Evelyn & Madeline Burke, as well as nieces and nephews.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, Antonio & Lillian (Marquis) D’Anjou; his sister Beatrice & Donald Seaward; his sister Estelle D’Anjou; his in laws Aime & Eva (Bergeron) Lavigne; his Brother-In-Law Andre & Rita (Poirier) Lavigne; and his son Paul D’Anjou.
