

Rita K. Hamel, 72, of Hooksett died at her residence Wednesday afternoon, October 24, 2012. She was born in Manchester on September 17, 1940, the daughter of the late Earl and Irene (Emery) Riley. She was a lifelong resident of the area.
She was a devoted homemaker who cherished her family. Rita enjoyed playing Bingo, trips to Mohegan Sun and Yahtzee but always held her grandchildren as the center of her life.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy “Dodie” Libby and her husband William of Hooksett and Lisa Sarette and her husband Kevin of Hooksett; a son, Maurice “Mickey” Gomes and his wife Donna of Milford CT; ten grandchildren, William Libby Jr., Robert Libby, Adam Libby, Ashley Libby, Mikayla Sarette, Morgan Sarette, Tyler Sarette, Matthew Gomes, Marissa Gomes and Elijah Gomes; three great grandchildren, Preston Libby, Nolan Libby and Jayce Smith; three sisters, Lee Archambeault, Patricia Comer and Frances Philibotte; three brothers, Webster “Mike” Riley, Guy Riley and Bruce Riley; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Irene Riley and Bette Trombly and brothers, Reginald “Sippy” Riley, Earl Riley and Lester “Spike” Riley.
Calling hours were Friday Oct. 26th from 5 to 7 PM in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday at 11:30 AM in St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Rd.
