Rita Lombardo

Manchester, NH – Rita Jeanette Lombardo, 99, longtime resident of Manchester, peacefully passed away at home on May 23, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born in Bedford, NH, where she was also raised and educated, on April 30, 1926, to her late parents David and Roseanna Beliveau. Rita worked for many years as a waitress in many of Manchester’s best restaurants, finally retiring from Brennan’s.

Rita was known for being a selfless woman, who would often help those who were less fortunate than herself. She enjoyed the many simple pleasures in life from dining out, gardening, sharing a meal made with family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rita lived by the tenets of her faith and was a devout Catholic. She was a longtime communicant for St. Pius X Parish in Manchester. Rita touched many lives in many different circles where she will be loved, cherished and missed by all.

Rita, the beloved matriarch of her family is survived by her two daughters, Joanne Eddinger and Donna Swift and her husband Robert, all of Manchester. She is also survived by her five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Rita is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, and her brother-in-law- Salvatore Lombardo and his wife of Fran of Manchester. In addition to her parents, and the last of twelve children, she was also preceded in death by her son David Lombardo and her daughter Brenda Sanborn.

Visitation for Rita will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 4 – 8 PM at the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover Street, Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 10 AM at St. Pius X Parish, 575 Candia Road, Manchester. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 448 Donald Street, Bedford, NH.
