Robert W. Morrell Sr.

Robert W. Morrell. Sr., 85 of Candia passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Maple Leaf Healthcare Center in Manchester on May 9, 2013. He was born in Manchester on October 20, 1927, the son of Charles and Margaret (Wolf) Morrell.

Educated in the Manchester school system, he was a graduate of West High School. Bob was a resident of Candia for over 50 years where he owned and operated Morrell’s Auto Service. He shared 47 years of marriage with the former Cora Cantin until her passing in 1996.

He was an avid car enthusiast and he enjoyed his 1930 Model A Ford and taking long drives with his son David. He loved boating on Lake Massabesic and camping as well as flea markets and yard sales. He will be remembered as a loyal husband, devoted father, loving grandfather and great grandfather who will be deeply missed.

Family members include two daughters, Margaret L. Croto of Raymond and Ruth H. Lavoie of Hooksett; two sons, Robert W. Morrell, Jr. and David C. Morrell, both of Candia; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were on Sunday from 5 to 8 PM in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. A funeral ceremony was held Monday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford. Memorial donations may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, New England Chapter, 300 Rosewood Dr., Suite 105, Danvers MA 01923.
