Roland, also known as “Porky” to his friends and “Rollie” to his railroad coworkers, was born and raised in Manchester, NH. He attended St. Francis of Assisi grammar school and graduated from Memorial High School. At the early age of eighteen, Roland joined the railroad industry and retired as a Machine Operator at the age of 62. His love for the railroad was equally shared by his dog, Diesel, whom often kept him company on the rails. Although the railroad was his primary career, he owned and operated his own trucking company, White Birch Trucking. Trucking was a passion of his and loved to watch the antique truck show and tractor pulls with friends during the fair season.
As a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi, he lent a hand whenever possible within the church community and was heavily involved with their events. He was also a big history buff, belonging to the Goffe’s Falls Historical Society. Roland was a lover of all animals and had many dogs, rabbits and cats throughout his life. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Goulet of Manchester; brother, Raymond Goulet Jr. and his wife, Ann of Manchester; sisters, Lorraine Diaz and husband, Gilbert and Theresa Drury and her partner, Joe; nephews, Adam Goulet, Carlos Diaz, Mark Diaz, George Diaz; nieces, Christine Rouleau, Danielle Tucker, Jessica Amato and many loving friends and family.
