

Ronald P. Burns, Sr., 57, of Manchester died September 29, 2009 at Catholic Medical Center after a sudden illness. A lifelong resident of Manchester, he was born here on July 16, 1952, the son of the late George Burns and June (Jackson) Burns.He was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Manchester Memorial High School. He was employed in the maintenance department of the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Manchester. Mr. Burns was a parishioner of OLPH parish. He was a member of the Sons of World War II Veterans associated with Sweeney Post #2 American Legion.He worked in security at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and was an avid fan of racing, especially NASCAR. Above all else he cherished his role as “Papa” to his grandchildren. Devoted to his family he will be greatly missed.Members of the family include his wife Sharon (Bousquet) Burns of Manchester; a daughter, Carrie Burns of Manchester; two sons Ronald Burns, Jr. of Manchester and Timothy Burns of Nashua; six grandchildren; his mother June Burns of Manchester; two brothers Robert Burns of Manchester and William Burns of Bedford; as well as nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his father and a grandson, Adam.Calling hours were held on Friday from 5 to 8 PM in the McHugh Funeral Home, 483 Beech St., corner of Hanover St. A funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM in St. Pius X Church; 575 Candia Rd.
