Born on December 19, 1978 in Province, RI, she was the daughter of Margaret (Alexander) and the late George Wiegand.
An avid New England sports fan, Valerie was rarely seen without her Bruins jersey; when she wasn’t watching a game, she enjoyed tuning into the Food Network to inspire her efforts in the kitchen, watching historical programs, and was a long-time fan of Star Trek. She shared her love of history with her Father - what other 4 year old do you know who wanted to dress as a minute man for Halloween? With a Master’s Degree in History and a passion for teaching; she used her skills to create a detailed family tree, and was very proud of her Irish and French-Canadian heritage. In addition to the love she had for her friends and family, she had a great love for animals, especially cats.
She is survived by her mother Dr. Margaret Wiegand; sister Desiree Wiegand; Aunt Annette Lobdell; Cousin Geoffrey Lobdell; her best friend Melissa Jones; and her cat Lily. She is preceded in death by her father George Wiegand.
