

William J. “Billy” Bonner, 81, of Cocoa Beach, FL and a former long time resident of Bedford died February 19, 2010 at the Hospice House in Concord after a lengthy illness of cancer surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Manchester on November 5, 1928, the son of the late Robert and Delia (Collins) Bonner.
Raised in Bedford, he resided there until relocating to Cocoa Beach FL about 20 years ago. Prior to his retirement he had been employed as a truck driver for St. Johnsbury Transportation for more than 25 years. He used his many talents to build a home at Baboosic Lake that he and his family enjoyed for many summers.
Billy was a well respected and loved man whose engaging personality and large heart attracted a host of friends. He and his wife of 60 years enjoyed dancing and he held membership in the Cocoa Beach Lodge of Elks. He was cherished by his family and will be greatly missed.
Family members include his wife Dorothy (Van Moortel) Bonner of Cocoa Beach, FL; five daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Deborah) Ouellette of Hooksett, Kathleen Tancrede of Bedford, Stacy Powers of Manchester, Mrs. Timothy (Jodi) Dawson of Bedford and Mrs. Joseph (Robin) Donovan of Merrimack; 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a memorial reception will be held on Wednesday February 24th from 5 to 7 PM in the McHugh Funeral Home, 483 Beech St., corner of Hanover St. A service of remembrance will be held at 7 PM in the funeral home.
