

He was born in Cambridge, MA on March 17, 1938, the son of William H. and Winifred (Wilson) Newell, Sr. He was educated in the Cambridge school system and lived there until relocating to Manchester in 1975.
Prior to his retirement in 2000, he was a very proud Teamster and was employed by Willy’s Express and later Valerie’s Trucking. Bill was a communicant of OLPH parish. He served his country as a member of the National Guard for twelve years.
He was a great fan of the Boston Bruins sand Boston Red Sox but above all else cherished his family as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Family members include his wife of 46 years, Frances A. (Richards) Newell of Manchester; a daughter, Lisa Reeder and her husband Brett of Hooksett; two sons, Keith Newell and his wife Cheryl of Manchester and Mark Newell and his wife Jennifer of Auburn; four grandchildren, Brendan Newell, Hayden Newell, Kallie Reeder and Tyler Reeder; two step granddaughters, Leah Dousmarais and Alyssa Mulhern; two step great grandchildren, Bella and Keegan; three brothers, Lawrence Newell of Salem, NH, Edward Newell of Methuen, MA and Kenneth Newell of Hampstead, NH; nieces and nephews.
An hour of visitation was held Tuesday from 9AM to 10AM in St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Rd., Manchester followed by a Memorial Mass in the church at 10 AM. Urn burial was in St Joseph Cemetery, Bedford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Pius Church, 575 Candia Rd., Manchester NH 03109.
