

Adele Marie Towle (nee DeFrancesco) was born in Scotch Plains, NJ on May 16, 1936. Baptized at St. Bernards Parish in Plainfield, NJ and a longtime resident of Scotch Plains and Fanwood. She resided in the Renaissance community in Manchester NJ for the last 28 years and attended mass at St. Luke's in Toms River, NJ.
She attended Lasell College in Auburndale, MA and married Howard Van Wagner Towle in 1957. She spent much of her career as the Office Manager at the medical practice of Dr. Harold Wasserman in Westfield, NJ.
Adele was active in numerous clubs and was a tireless volunteer for many decades for organizations ranging from Alzheimers Caregiving, Hospitals, Churches and various Social services. An accomplishment she cherished was being named the Volunteer of the Year for Monmouth Medical Center in 2017. Adele was an avid golfer and bridge player and cherished the friendships she enjoyed through the years doing what she loved.
Adele was predeceased by her beloved sister Linda Remler. She is survived by her 4 sons and their familes: Van and Diane in Sanford NC, Michael and Wendy in West Chester PA, John and Kathleen in Wallingford VT, and James and Kelly in Bridgewater NJ. Her 8 grandchildren - Derek, Neil, Taylor, Sean, Shannon, Kevin, Danielle, and Nicholas, and 4 great grandchildren - Maya, Parker, Wesley and Colette will all miss her dearly.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation for Adele at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759, on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 2 to 6 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Luke Roman Catholic Church, 1674 Old Freehold Rd, Toms River, NJ 08755, Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:00 am to 9:45 am, followed by interment at Saint Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Honey Locust Dr, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Adele's memory to the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center.
