Albin George Shumbris Jr.

Al is survived by his beloved wife, Sheryn Shumbris; his children, Tracy and husband Mark, Robyn and husband John, and Corrie and husband Buck; his cherished grandchildren, Sarah, Morgan, Sean, Maddie, Zach, Sophia, Lily, and Kendall; along with daughter-in-law Shawn, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his son, Greg, and his parents, Albin and Mary Shumbris.

Born to Albin and Mary Shumbris in Newark, New Jersey, Al lived a life centered on family, hard work, and creating lasting memories. He was the beloved husband of Sheryn Shumbris, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and friendship. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished moments. Al was rarely far from Sheryn's side, serving as her devoted partner through every chapter of life.

Nothing brought him greater joy than watching his children and grandchildren participate in their activities and celebrating their accomplishments. Whether cheering from the sidelines or sharing words of encouragement, he was always their biggest supporter.

A graduate of Rutgers University and a veteran of the New Jersey National Guard, Al dedicated decades of service to Proctor & Gamble, where his strong work ethic and commitment earned the respect of his colleagues. After retiring at the age of 52, he embraced retirement by spending more time with his family and enjoying the hobbies he loved, including passionately rooting for the Yankees and Giants.

An avid golfer and talented woodworker, Al found joy both on the golf course and in his workshop, where he crafted projects with patience, skill, and care. He was also known for his love of his dogs and for spending time meticulously crafting a perfectly lush lawn. Whether hosting holiday celebrations, backyard cookouts, or special occasions, Big Al loved bringing family together and creating memories that will be cherished for generations. Later in life, he became a devoted member of Good Shepherd Church, where he enjoyed attending Sunday Mass with his wife and friends.

Above all, Al will be remembered as a man who put his family first. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply the values he instilled, and the countless memories shared by those fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered always for his quick wit, his steadfast love, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held from 12 pm to 4 pm on August 5, 2026, at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester, NJ. 08759.
