Allison worked as a paramedic for UMDNJ in Newark, NJ for 9 years, and later worked for the House of Hope in Paterson for 4 years as a recovery counselor for substance-addicted youth.
Allison lived in Lehigh Acres, FL for several years, and while there, she became a member of the American Legion. She always had the highest regard and respect for our veterans and all those in uniform. (She was particularly fond of Firemen...)
Allison loved riding horses and motorcycles, giving advice, and complaining about the people who didn't follow her advice. "Hear me now, or believe me later" was a favorite and frequent remark. Allison's advice, wit, and humor – present even in the darkest moments of life – will be missed by all who knew her.
Allison was predeceased by her parents, Edward R. and Norma Ponzini (née Martino) and her partner, John Monticello. She is survived by her son, Joseph Monticello, her brother, Edward A. Ponzini, and sister and best friend, Jennifer Ponzini, as well as her two nieces, Gabriella and Francesca, her aunt, Marlene Sauchelli, and a host of beloved cousins and close friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10:30AM, at Saint Agnes RC Church, 103 Center Avenue, Atlantic Highlands, NJ 07716.
