Born March 4, 1948, entered into eternal rest on October 21, 2019, at his home in Jackson, NJ.
Alonzo was preceded in death by his parents William and Joylette Clayton Sr. Four sisters, Beverly Rich, Florence McDonald, Joylette Clayton and Yvonne Clayton.
He is survived by two brothers Dennis Clayton and William Clayton, Jr., both of Jackson, NJ, and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
Alonzo was born and raised to the age of ten in Neptune, NJ, moved to the Bronx in New York, and later settled in Manchester, NJ.
After graduating high school he went to work for Con Edison in New York until he was drafted into the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1972, returned to Con Ed where he worked for 38 years as a first Class Draftsman before retiring.
Alonzo was a spiritual man that loved the Lord. He attended and was a long standing member of Calvary Lighthouse Assemblies of God Church in Lakewood, New Jersey. He also volunteered at the House of Blessings Food Pantry and traveled with the church on mission trips to places like Africa and Jerusalem.
Alonzo will be fondly remembered as a loving brother, uncle, father figure, confidant, advisor and friend.
