

Amerson R. Bigelow, Jr., of Toms River, NJ, passed away May 30, 2012, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. He was born and raised in Jersey City. He moved to Brick where he and Ginny lived for 22 years, and raised their three children Roni, Ricke, and Todd. They moved to North Carolina for some time, before moving back to Toms River last year. Rich was an Air Force Veteran (Sgt) who was a member of the 6921st security wing in Misawa, Japan, he was a lifetime member of the VFW, and a member of the AMVets Ocean County Post 2, Jackson, NJ.
For 25 years, Rich worked as an officer for the Jersey City Police Department before retiring in 1992. Some of his hobbies entailed being an avid reader, challenging himself with crossword puzzles, and cherishing his grandsons. You could always be certain that he would be boppin’ his head and singing along to the oldies music.
Rich is survived by his wife of 44 ½ years, Ginny (Curry) Bigelow, his daughter Roni Lei Schultz and her husband Edward; his son Amerson “Ricke” R. Bigelow and his wife Jacqueline; and his son Todd Eldon Bigelow; his two grandsons, Dylan Edward Schultz and Mason Amerson Schultz; his sister Donna McGovern and her husband Patrick, and his nephew and niece, Jeffrey and Meghan McGovern.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012 at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759, from 10am-12pm, with a service to be conducted at 12 pm. A Prayer Service with Military Honors to follow at 1:30 pm at the Brig. William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
