Bernadine Marie Poss

Bernadine "Betty" Poss, 87 of Manchester Township, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 29th, 2025, at Whiting Gardens. Betty was born on January 19th, 1938 in Hoboken, NJ, to parents Bernadino and Marie (nee LaFogia) Mezzina. Betty grew up in Hoboken and eventually met her husband. They married and moved to Howell Twp., NJ in 1966. In 1987, her and her family moved to Toms River, NJ and raised their family. In 2020, Betty moved to Manchester Twp. and remained until her passing.

Betty was a bus driver for the Freehold Regional School district for 25 plus years. During her retirement years, Betty enjoyed bingo, walking, cooking, and crocheting. She was a member of the Happy Hookers crocheting club of Toms River. What gave Betty the most joy however, was spending time with her family.

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Edmund Poss Jr. and her sisters, Vincenza Cristantiello and Marie Menzie. She is survived by her children, sons, Edmund Poss and his wife, Francine, James Poss and his wife, Kimberly, Thomas Poss and his wife, Terri, and Michael Poss ( his late wife, Leanne).Her brother, Fred Mezzina and his wife, Barbara, and her sister, Anna Maresca. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A visitation for Betty will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. Following the visitation, entombment will follow from 2:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Whiting Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 600 County Rd 530, Manchester Township, NJ 08759.
