Catherine N. Varsalona

Catherine Varsalona of Manchester, NJ passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at the age of 85. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Roscoe and Mary Conklin, Catherine lived a life centered on love, family, and friendship. She was married to her beloved husband, Salvatore Varsalona, who predeceased her. Married for 51 years, together they built a loving home in Colonia, New Jersey, where Catherine resided and raised her family before relocating to Manchester.

She is survived by her devoted sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Bess, Ed and Kathy, and Bob and Robin. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Vincent and his husband Vince, Samantha and her wife Ariel, Peter, and Mary and her fiancé Ben.

Catherine is also survived by her cherished siblings, Sandra and her husband Wayne, Roscoe and his wife Pat, and her brother Bob, whose wife JoAnn predeceased him. Also surviving Catherine are countless nieces, nephews, and cousins who always gathered at her house for holidays and special occasions. She loved entertaining and being surrounded by her family and friends.

A woman of deep compassion and community spirit, Catherine was an active member of the St. John’s Auxiliary of the Columbiettes and a proud member of the local Red Hats Society. Her kindness, humor, and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by family and friends alike. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her husband, Salvatore, and all those who went before her.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 19th, 2025, from 3pm to 7pm at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., in Manchester Township. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30am on Monday, October 20th, 2025, at St. John Catholic Church, 619 Chestnut St., Lakehurst, NJ. Burial will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd., Wrightstown, NJ. Condolences and tributes can be left for the Varsalona family on this website.
