Elizabeth V. Planz

Elizabeth V. Planz, “Bette”, 86 of Manchester Township, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, March 4th, 2024. Bette was born on December 30th, 1937, in Jersey City, New Jersey to parents, Anthony and Josephine (nee Costa) Caruso. In the summer of 1953, she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Planz. They married on April 27th, 1957, and settled in Hackensack, New Jersey where they began their family.

Elizabeth is predeceased by her loving parents Anthony, Sr. and Josephine Caruso, mother and father-in-law, Louise and John Planz Sr., brother’s Anthony Jr. and Frank “Butchie” Caruso, sister Marion Biasi, in-laws Ralph and Virginia Planz, John Jr. and Lena Planz, Marie and Arthur Cattaneo, and Elizabeth and August Picariello.

Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband Robert who she adored, daughter’s, Leslie Browne and her husband Joseph, Lori Gucia and her husband Mark Sr., two grandsons who she cherished, Markie Gucia and Joey Browne. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Jacqueline (Jackie) Caruso and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members who will miss her dearly.

Bette would have loved to be remembered as “The life of the party”. She could sing and dance with the best of them. She was a strong and loving woman who put up a fierce battle to be around the people she loved and cherished.

A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 8, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at St John's Church, 619 Chestnut Street, Lakehurst, NJ 08733. A committal service will occur Friday, March 8, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Saint Mary of the Lake Cemetery, 1 Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
