Frank H. Cannon, 88, of Manchester, New Jersey, a beloved husband, father, Poppy, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of a life well lived.
Born in Jersey City, Frank grew up in Keansburg before moving to Kearny. He later resided in Lyndhurst for 40 years before making Manchester his home nine years ago.
Frank proudly served four years in the United States Navy aboard the USS Essex (CVA-9), before receiving an honorable discharge. Following his military service, he dedicated 43 years of hard work and commitment to UPS in Secaucus, where he worked as a shop steward in the “Square D” division before retiring. Throughout those years, he built lasting friendships and accumulated countless stories and memories that he loved to share.
Frank had a gentle, calm demeanor with warm blue eyes and a smile that would light up any room. He looked forward to camping season, spending many happy years at his home away from home, where he formed enduring friendships and made cherished memories. In his later years, some of his happiest moments were spent with his family visiting Seaside, enjoying the simple pleasure of being together. He also enjoyed the UPS retiree lunches, where he could reconnect with former coworkers, reminisce about their years together, and laugh about the many shenanigans they shared along the way.
Above all else, Frank’s greatest love and joy was his family. He treasured the time spent with those he loved and found happiness in the memories, laughter, and special moments they shared. To his family, he was so much more than a husband, father, and Poppy; he was a source of love, strength, and countless treasured memories that will forever remain in their hearts.
Frank is survived by his loving children, Colleen Cannon, Eileen Cannon (Jeff Brito), Kevin Cannon (Angela Del Russo), Gina Filgueiras (Juan Filgueiras), and Janice Becker.
He was a devoted and cherished Poppy to Denise Andriulli (Dan), Nicole Cannon (Christofer Pateiro), Brendan Cannon (Melina), Roy DeMauro (Jessica Vecchiarelli), Kevin DeMauro, Kyle Antosh, Jaylene Lynn Filgueiras, Shane Henderson, and Amanda Henderson. His love for his grandchildren was a special part of his life, and the memories they created together will be treasured for generations to come.
Frank was also a loving great-grandfather to Leila, Kaitlin, Brennan, RJ, Lochlan, Kaylee, Christofer, Kolton, Royce, Harper, Peyton, and Jaxson, each of whom brought their own special joy and love into his life.
He will also be fondly remembered by his many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda Cannon; his parents, James Cannon and Jane Cannon (McDonald); his daughter, Kathleen Cannon; his son, Michael Cannon; his siblings, Jackie Cannon, and Marilyn Cannon.
Frank leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, friendship, and family. He will be remembered for his wonderful stories, the friendships he held dear, the adventures he enjoyed, and most importantly, the unconditional love he gave to those closest to him. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on forever.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation for Frank at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759, US, on October 24, 2026, from 12 to 4 pm, with a prayer service to take place at 3:30 pm.
