

Geneva J. LoCastro, age 98, of Lakewood, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025. She was born in Highland Park, NJ and spent most of her life there before moving to Leisure Village West in Manchester, NJ in 2005, and later to Harrogate Retirement Community in Lakewood, NJ in 2022. While in Highland Park, Geneva was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Highland Park Fire Department and volunteered her time at both the local elementary school and the Consalata Missionaries in Somerset, NJ. She was a member of St. Paul’s RC Church in Highland Park, NJ and later at St. Mary’s RC Church in New Brunswick, NJ. Geneva was also a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Lakehurst, NJ after moving to Manchester. She was devastated by the loss of her husband, Salvatore, in 1982, but was resilient and managed to live independently with a sharp mind right up until the end of her life.
While living in Leisure Village West, and Harrogate, Geneva was very active. She bowled well into her 90s and played Bocce Ball, Pinochle, chair volleyball and Bingo. She also played Words with Friends daily. She was an excellent cook and baker and prepared many Italian specialties including family favorites such as rice balls, homemade gnocchi and manicotti. What Geneva loved the most was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was extremely proud of her sons and daughters-in-law, and nothing brought her more joy in life than the love and support of her family. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Salvatore.
In addition to her husband Salvatore, Geneva was predeceased by her brother Albert Muscle and sister Gloria Scaramozzino. She is survived by her devoted sons and their wives: Donald and his wife Maureen, Lawrence and his wife Annie, Thomas and his wife Terry and Richard and his wife Jody; her 10 grandchildren: Michelle Xavier, Dennis LoCastro, Eve LoCastro, Laura Bio, Michael LoCastro, Christina LoCastro, Kimberly Trafficanti, Brian LoCastro, Joseph LoCastro and Nicholas LoCastro; and her 8 great grandchildren: Brianna, Katelyn, Marleigh, Brecken, Graham, Marco, Melanna and Summer.
A visitation for family and friends of Geneva will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m, at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday June 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint John’s RC Church 619 Chestnut Street, Lakehurst, NJ 08733, with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ.
