James J. Thomas, Jr. “JT”, 53, of Hampton Bays, NY, formerly of Lakehurst, NJ, passed away at home on Sunday December 2, 2012. Born in Lakewood, NJ, he attended Central High Regional High School. He had resided on Long Island since 1976. Mr. Thomas was an accomplished chef and had worked at many Hampton eateries including the Patio and the Magics Pub in West Hampton Beach, before owning and operating his own restaurant JT’s Place in Hampton Bays, Long Island for many years. JT was well known throughout the Hamptons and will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his mother Noreen Thomas of Lakehurst, sisters Maureen of Staten Island, NY and Cynthia of Berkeley Twp., NJ, brothers Kelly of Michigan, and Brett of Toms River, NJ. He is also survived by his nephews Ryan and John and nieces Jane and Lindsey, as well as his good friend “Jimmy Computer” of Hampton Bays, NY.
