Janet C. (nee Monahan) Kleinknecht, 83, of Manchester, NJ, passed away at the Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ, on Wednesday February 20, 2013. Born and raised in Orange, NJ, Janet lived in Keansburg for many years before moving to Manchester in 1985. When living in Keansburg, Janet was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Church, where she volunteered for almost everything, including the PTA and working in the rectory. After moving to Manchester, she became a parishioner of Saint John’s Church in Lakehurst and was very active in Cedar Glen West, heading clubs and events. When meeting others, she would often adopt them as her niece, nephew, or other family member. After meeting her, she made you feel like family. Janet could always see the good in every situation, and could find humor and happiness in the most negative and dire circumstances.
Janet was predeceased by her husband John in 2002 and her grandson Nicholas Ott in 2011, and her four siblings, Jack, John James, Shirley and Jimmy. She is survived by her loving daughter Debra Ott and her husband Stephen, her cherished granddaughter Julia, her cousin Sharon, and her devoted canine friends JD and Tug.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Monday February 25, 2013, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759.
