

Joan Cowdrick, 79, of Toms River was granted her angel wings on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 at St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston. Born in Brooklyn, she resided in Jackson before moving to Toms River, where she raised her family. She worked for St. Barnabas Health Care in Toms River before retiring. Joan was a very selfless person who always thought of others before herself. She enjoyed the simplest things in life like gardening, bird watching, and just spending time with her family. Above all, she was a loving, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who devoted her life to the well-being and happiness of her family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold “Pete” Cowdrick in 1990. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her loving children, Harold “Pete” Cowdrick of Toms River, Penny Wilbert of Toms River and Patricia Kotsifas of Bayville; her sister, Wendy Lowdermilk and her brother, Billy Lowdermilk, both of California; her cherished grandchildren, Amy Kling and her husband, Jimmy, of Forked River, Norman “Skip” Wilbert and his wife, Sara, of Forked River, Tammy Mason and her husband, Mike, of Manchester, John Kotsifas, Jr. and Veronica Klapmuts of Forked River, Louella Kotsifas and her fiancé Danny Clappsy, of Bayville, Joseph Cowdrick and Nicole Pace of Forked River and Olivia Cowdrick of Sea Girt; a step-granddaughter, Joanne Virgilio and her husband, Robert, of Pennsylvania; nine great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm, Wednesday at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester. A funeral service will be held at 10 am, Thursday at the funeral home.
