

Joan E. Ratajzcik, a compassionate and generous soul, passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on December 4, 1943, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Joan was a true "Jersey girl," proud of her roots and her life spent in the Garden State. She lived in Parlin before making her home in Manchester, NJ.
Joan was a devoted wife to Frank and a caring daughter to her mother, Olga. Her loyalty extended to her sister, cousins, and the many friends she made throughout her work life and community. Joan was known for her selfless and thoughtful nature, always offering advice that made others see situations in a new light. Her deep, honest, and independent spirit touched the lives of many.
In her professional life, Joan worked as an administrative secretary for Federated Appliance. After retirement, Joan worked as a teacher's aide and loved working with the students. Her dedication to her career was matched by her involvement in the community, where she participated in election work and was an active member of the women's club of the Renaissance.
Joan had a love for life that was evident in her personal interests and hobbies. She had a passion for clothing, Estee Lauder makeup, and jewelry. She cherished the holidays and took pride in getting her hair done. Joan was an avid traveler, enjoying trips to Aruba and Cuba, and she delighted in going out to dinner and driving to North Jersey for the best culinary experiences. Her love for the beach and ocean, and living by the shore, reflected her outgoing and adventurous spirit.
Visitation for family and friends of Joan will be held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, located at 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ, on October 21, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Catholic Church, 619 Chestnut St, Lakehurst, NJ, on October 22, 2025, from 10:00 am to 10:40 am. Interment will follow at St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleums, 62 Cedar Grove Rd, Toms River, NJ, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
Joan's kind-hearted and family-oriented nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, bravery, and thoughtfulness will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
