

Marie P. Karwelies, 96 of Manchester, NJ, passed away on January 27, 2014, at Bey Lea Village, Toms River, NJ. Born in the Bronx, NY Marie raised her family in Greenbrook, and lived in Lakewood, before moving to Manchester in 2001.She was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army during WWII and she worked for FAR Packaging in South Plainfield for eight years. Marie was an avid golfer and card player.
Marie was predeceased by her first husband Warren Sweeney and her second Charles Karwelies. She is survived by her daughter Jerrelyn Schalkoff and her husband Vince of Manchester, NJ, her sons Brian Sweeney of PA and Daniel Sweeney of RI, her cherished granddaughter Robin Schalkoff of Manchester, and grandsons William Schalkoff and his wife Emily of Summit, NJ, Jason Sweeney and his wife Eileen of FL and Marc Sweeney of FL, her nephew Charles Karwelies and his wife Nancy of FL, her niece and goddaughter Lois Weber of Manchester, NJ and two sisters Catherine Reynolds of Manchester, NJ and Elizabeth Morin of Lincroft, NJ. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday January 30, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester, NJ 08759. A Funeral Service will be at 9:15 am on Friday January 31, 2014 at the Funeral Home, with Interment to follow at the Brig. WC Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
