

Mercedes Fong, 81, of Manchester died Sunday, February 5, 2012. Born in Colombia, South America, she immigrated to the United States in 1952. She resided in Elizabeth, NJ for 25 years before moving to Manchester in 1998. Mercedes was a parishioner of St. John’s Roman Catholic Church and a member of several clubs in Leisure Village West.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tsen Shun Fong in 1994. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Karen Fong of Tinton Falls and Robert and Bernadette Fong of Bethlehem, PA; three daughters, Rosalba Chan and her husband Kenny of Surprise, AZ, Cynthia Fong Smith her husband Thomas of Atlantic Beach, FL and Dora Bettencourt of Queens, NY; one brother, Luis Bello; three sisters, Ignacia Arias, Eli Vargas and Eva Pirjevec; and 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation is Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 am at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Lakehurst.
