

Phillip DePoalo, age 82 passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Born in New York City, NY, Phil grew up in Astoria, NY, as one of eight children. He and his family moved to Elmwood Park, NJ, where he met his beloved Joan, his high school sweetheart. They were married for 57 years before she passed.
Phil graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with his BS that he earned while working during the day and raising his young family. Thereafter, he returned to FDU as an adjunct professor. He retired at a young age as the Head of Technology for Salomon Brothers in New York City. He and Joan moved to the Renaissance in Manchester over 20 years ago. While living there, he participated in many clubs and was an avid golfer. Phil possessed a true zest for life, enjoyed going to the theater and was usually the life of the party. He loved traveling the world with Joan and vacationing, especially cruises, with his family & friends. Throughout his life, family was his priority and brought him tremendous joy.
Phil was predeceased by his true love, Joan in 2020. He is survived by his loving children; Ronald DePoalo and his wife Mara and Sandra DePoalo and her husband Domenic Turziano, his cherished grandchildren; Daniel DePoalo and his wife Sarah, Thomas DePoalo and his wife Nicole, Kristen Martin and her husband Jack and Joseph DePoalo, and his great grandchildren; Jesse DePoalo, Elliot DePoalo and Samuel DePoalo. He is also survived by his older brother, Louis DePoalo.
A visitation for family and friends for Phil will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. A funeral service will be held at the mausoleum on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 11:30 to 11:45 am at the Ocean County Memorial Park Association, 1722 Silverton Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753. Please be at the funeral home by 10:30 am to join the procession to the cemetery.
