RICHARD WAS BORN IN BROOKLYN N.Y. ON FEBRUARY 4, 1949 TO LOVING PARENTS MARY AND AUGIE STROM. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS AND TWIN BROTHER NORMAN.
HIS MEMORY WILL LIVE ON THROUGH HIS FAMILY; HIS WIFE KAREN, DAUGHTER KERRI MOCIK, SON IN LAW STEVE MOCIK, STEPSON ROGER HYLTON AND HIS WIFE ANGELA, GRANDDAUGHTER SAMANTHA & DANIELLE, GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER ABIGAIL, BROTHER DAN & WIFE JULIE, BROTHER ROBERT & WIFE PATRICIA,
SISTER KAREN FLEMING & HUSBAND ROBERT AND SISTER-IN-LAW CAMILLE STROM.
HE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY MANY NIECES AND NEPHEWS; JENNIFER, ROBERT, SHANNON, LINDA,
DANNY,ELYSE, DAVID, ERIN, KAYLEE & ERIN
RICHARD WAS MARRIED TO HIS BEAUTIFUL WIFE KAREN FOR 45 YEARS. HE WAS A PROUD
VETERAN OF THE US NAVY, SERVING ABOARD THE USS HASSAYAMPA STATIONED IN PEARL
HARBOR HAWAII. HIS SHIP RECEIVED A GROUP ACHIEVEMENT FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE AS
A RECOVERY FORCE FOR THE APOLLO MISSION. HE ALSO EARNED NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL, VIETNAM SERVICE MEDAL, REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM CAMPAIGN RIBBON AND ARMED FORCES EXPEDITIONARY MEDAL.
RICHARD WAS A BEAUTIFUL SOUL WHO WAS PROUD OF HIS SERVICE TO HIS COUNTRY.
