Deepest condolences to the Schiavone and Massaro Families. The Massaro’s were my in-laws neighbors on Rathbun Ave for the time they lived in Huguenot and Sam was highly regarded as a hard worker and a nice man. I was lucky to see this firsthand when I met him through my friendship with Donna and Tom. He is in God’s hands and leaves behind a great legacy in his beautiful children and grandchildren.

I remember Sam from the old neighborhood on Staten Island in Huguenot. We all moved in around the same time in 1972 there from Brooklyn, and were all so young !Sam was always working around outside on the lawn, planting new shrubs from the tree auction in the early 1970's, and constantly cleaning. He was a kind and gentle soul,a friendly and good neighbor and maintained a spotless home with his wife Celia, and their two children;Samuel and Donna. They moved away in 2003 to a retirement adult community in New Jersey.I was saddened to see on-line he just passed away at 80.My deepest condolences to his family.May he rest in peace.
