Salvatore Vincent Varsalona, 73, of Manchester, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at home. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Colonia for 43 years while raising his family. He was a former Deputy Grand Knight of the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus. Nothing brought him greater joy than time spent with his four beloved grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister, Alice Williams. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Catherine; three sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Bessie of Galloway, Edward and Kathryn of Jackson, and Robert and Robin of Franklin Park; a sister, Tina Jalbert of Limestone, ME; and four grandchildren, Vincent, Samantha, Peter and Mary.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 13 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to meet at St. John's Church, 619 Chestnut St., Lakehurst to celebrate a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14. Interment will be private.
