Stanley J. Gluza

Stanley J. "Stan " Gluza, 78, of Manchester Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026. Born in Pittsfield, MA he was the son of the late Stanley J. Gluza and Margaret Clement Gluza Ostrander.

Stan was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Jamie, his daughter, Jennifer (Daniel) Matthews, and his cherished grandsons, Sam, Jack and PFC Fynn (USMC) Matthews. He is also survived by his sister, Theresa (Maurice) Garofoli, and his much-loved family of his mother-in-law, sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased in death by his parents, and two brothers, Jan and Alex Gluza.

After graduating from Pittsfield High School in 1965, Stan enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country for 25 years, including two tours in Vietnam. He was stationed at duty stations in New Hampshire, Virginia (where he met Jamie), North Carolina, Hawaii (where his daughter was born), Okinawa, and Lakehurst, NJ. He honorably retired from the USMC in 1990, with the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant, holding the position of Training Officer and NCO in Charge of the Expeditionary Airfield (EAF) School, Naval Air Station (NAS), Lakehurst, NJ. Following his military service, Stan remained in the Lakehurst area and built a second career as an Engineering Technician/Technical Writer for STV Co. and M&T Co. retiring in 2015.

Being from Massachusetts, Stan was a big Red Sox and Patriots fan. Stan enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and running road races. In 1988, Stan and Jamie, trained for and completed the Marine Corp Marathon.

Stan enjoyed traveling with his wife for vacations and USMC Reunions. They especially enjoyed visiting all the National Parks and cruising. He also enjoyed having adventures with his three grandsons.

Stan was a good man, loved by all. With a kind heart and an easy smile, Stan made our world a better place. He will be remembered for his steadfast love for his family and dedication to his fellow Veterans. He was a proud member of the VFW and USMC SATS/EAF Organization.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Friday, July 17, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd (Rt 571), Manchester, NJ.

Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ.
