

Patrick and Mary Anne Travers (deceased), passed away peacefully at home
surrounded by loved ones (“his guardian angels”).
Stephen lived in Brooklyn, NY with his devoted wife, Lorraine and four children
before moving to Howell, NJ in 1969 where he raised his family and enjoyed
creating many life-long friendships.
Stephen maintained long careers with Morgan Guarantee Trust Co. and First Fidelity
Bank. As a passionate golfer, he took a job, just for fun, at the Howell Golf Course
post-retirement.
Stephen moved to Manchester, NJ after losing his wife, Lorraine, of 44 years where
he enjoyed ten years of playing golf, bocce ball and reading books on his patio. He
was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, Toms River, NJ.
Stephen enjoyed spending time with family, dabbling with the guitar and ukulele
and listening to Irish music. He cared deeply about his Irish heritage and spent
endless hours on Ancestry.com where he discovered many family connections.
Stephen is also predeceased by his daughter, Laurie and his brothers, John and
Michael. He is survived by his son, Stephen and wife, Mary, his daughter, Beth and
husband, Pete, his daughter, Christina and husband, Rob, his grandchildren, Casey,
Emily and Megan, Peter and Brittney, Brian and Lauren, Kevin and Megan, Amanda
and Brian and Sarah. He was blessed to meet his great-granddaughters, Quinn and
Ellie who he leaves behind. He is survived by his sister, Rosemary, his sister-in-law
Peggy and many nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his wisdom, his sense of humor, his wit and his
entertaining stories. He was tough but kind, serious but a lot of fun. He worked hard
and played hard. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who had
the honor of knowing him.
A visitation for Stephen will be held on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester. There will be a mass on Wednesday, February, 2nd, at 9:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 130 St. Maximilian Ln., Toms River, NJ 08757. Burial will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd., Wrightstown, NJ.
