

Vincent P. La Magra, of Manchester Township, passed away peacefully, with loved ones by his side, on Monday, March 16, 2026. Vinny was born on August 28, 1937. The youngest son of Italian immigrants, he grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey where he attended Ferris High School and graduated at the top of his class.
Vinny began working at Western Electric (AT&T) at the age of 18. While working at Western Electric, he moved with a few family members to Kearny, New Jersey. Shortly afterwards, his nephew Larry introduced him to the love of his life, Maureen Manzione of Newark, New Jersey. Vinny and Maureen moved to Nutley with their family in 1975 where they lived until retiring to Manchester in 2008.
Vinny worked for AT&T until age 48. He then worked as the head custodian for St. Clare’s Church in Clifton, New Jersey until he retired in 2002 at the age of 65.
Vinny’s top priority was making sure he provided for his family. He worked hard to make sure they had everything they needed and ensured they enjoyed a happy life.
In his retirement, Vinny enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. You could often find him reading at Barnes and Noble, watching one of his grandchildren’s sporting events, or following his beloved Yankees.
Vinny is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Rosalie La Magra and his siblings, Margie, Paula, Joe, Millie, Sonny, Toni, and Rosemary. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maureen, his children Linda (James) Holmes, Paul (Andrea) La Magra, and his grandchildren Justin, Jamie, Natalie, and Luca.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to St. Jude’s Hospital, (Stjude.org) or the American Cancer Society, (Cancer.org) in his name.
Visitation will be held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759, on March 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Catholic Church, 619 Chestnut St, Lakehurst, NJ 08733, on March 21, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.
