Virginia Sparrow

Virginia “Bobby” Sparrow, 80, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at Arista Care of Manchester. She was born to William and Lizzie Mae Archie on August 18, 1934 in Elizabeth, NJ. She then married Cornell Sparrow on February 28, 1954 in Elizabeth, NJ and relocated to Manchester, NJ over 50 years ago. She was a mother to 8 children. In 1968 Virginia received her LPN license. She worked at various locations and retired from New Lisbon Developmental Center approximately in 1996. Virginia was a loving and caring person with a great sense of humor who loved to travel. She also loved dogs. She made new friends easily and was always there to help those in need. As a member of the Church of Grace and Peace she continued her passion working with children in the nursery.

She leaves behind her beloved children, Denise Graham nad her husband, Robert, Claudette Sparrow, Cornell W. Sparrow, Lydia Covin and her husband, Michael L., Shelly Sparrow, Lisa Sparrow and Celeste Sparrow; adored grandchildren, Timekoe, Kisha and David; 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. One of seven children, Virginia is survived by her sister, Louise Gray of East Orange, NJ.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 am, Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Church of Grace and Peace, 1563 Old Freehold Rd., Toms River. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at the church.
