

Alfred 'Al' M. Williams, 87, of Mansfield died Saturday, November 23, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Williams was born September 2, 1915 in Kaluso, California to the late Jacob and Laura Williams. He retired from Iron Worker's Local #550. After retiring he worked at Pebble Creek Golf Course for 22 years and Lex Lanes. Al enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and bowling. He had a great sense of humor and loved going to church and singing in the choir at Cook Road Baptist Church. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Williams; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Freddie Williams of Red Bluff, California, Al Williams and Judy Heinberger of Lucas, Ohio and Zell and Sherry Kay Williams of Ashland, Ohio; three daughters and a son-in-law, Carol Jean Crawford of Reno, Nevada, Judy Rohrer and Bobby Sanders, and Florie Williams, all of Mansfield; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Kelly Fisher of Mansfield and Curtis and Elizabeth Fisher of Wyoming; two stepdaughters and son-in-law, Wendy and Keith Evans of Portugal and April Fisher of Loudonville; nineteen grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jacob Williams of Mansfield; a sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Charles Brashear of California; and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Gertrude Williams; second wife, Betty Williams; sister-in-law, Thelma Williams; and an infant brother.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday, November 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be at the Cook Road Baptist Church, 54 E. Cook Rd., Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Rev. Jack Hackworth. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation.
