
Alice Rose Kanz, 70, of Mansfield, died Saturday, October 15, 2005, at her home following an extended illness. Born September 17, 1935, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Anna Ginter Bemiller. A lifelong area resident, she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She attended Mansfield Senior High School and worked at Buckeye Bakery and the Elk's Club. She was a member of V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She was the loving wife of Robert Christian Kanz whom she married on April 30, 1954, whom preceded her in death, and she lived in the same home for 50 years.
She is the loving mother to Pam Chuck Duniver Pfahler of Mansfield, Sonjia Rev. Steve Schag of Shelby, Melodie Rodney Schag, Christine Chuck Bauer McMillen, all of Mansfield, Robert Michael Dietrich Kanz of Columbus; nine grandchildren, Steve Stephanie, Shane Chunwei, Scott, Matt and Mark Schag, Tricia and Craig McMillen, Robyn Jayson Stone and Rachel Kanz; six great-grandchildren, Jared, Caleb and David Schag, Jaycob, Grayce, and Layne Stone; two sisters, Annabelle Fitch of Mansfield and Betty Simon of Ontario; niece, Cindy Butler; nephew, Rick Simon; and many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends may call Tuesday, October 18 from 5-8 p.m. and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 19 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Steve Schag. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
