
Alice G. Stofer Thompson, 82, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born November 29, 1923 in Mt. Vernon, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stofer. She worked as a secretary at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church for 58 years where she was also a member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Pandora Dance Club. She enjoyed knitting and playing cards with friends.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Donna Thompson of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Melissa Mervin Bellflower of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Marcus Andrew Thompson of Phoenix, Arizona, Michelle Russell Hill of Marysville, and Rocky Heather Baith of Seville; six great-grandchildren, Zachary Hilts, Cameron, Kason, and Caitlee Hill, and Jordan and Conner Baith; niece, Beverly Vern Parker of Mansfield; nephew, Bob Loraine Parker of Lucas; and special friends, Elaine Wuethrich of Mansfield, and Mary Restelli of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Eldon M. Thompson; parents; son, Les Thompson; great-grandson, Dillon Thompson; two sisters, Margene Craigo, and Ruth Campbell; and brother, Milford Stofer.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may also call one hour prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Carol Kautz. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Park Avenue Baptist Church.
