

She worked at The Truck Stop as a manager of 20 years and Neer Manufacturing for 11 years. Alice married Joseph F. Yuengert, Sr. on September 29, 1956. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was often referred to as the "Cookie Monster" for her delicious cookies. Alice loved rose gardening and found peace in the effort to produce beautiful blooms year after year.
Surviving are her children, Rose (Charlie) Burley, George (Laura) Yuengert, John (Cindy) Yuengert, all of Ashland and Jo Ann (Scott) Lorentz of Lakeville, OH, a granddaughter she raised. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, Charlie Jr., David, Joey, Lee, Mary, Shawna, John Jr., Joe, Jordan, Matthew, Dakota, Dawn and Brandon; twelve great-grandchildren, Allison, Justin, JJ, Hope, Gloria, Elijah, Jerimiah, Alex, Rusty, Drake, Dylan and Ella; a sister, Helen "Cookie" Shultz of East Liverpool, OH; niece, Penny Zamborsky; and nephew, Kurt Zamborsky.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Rita Ann Lawson Donelson; son, Joseph F. Yuengert, Jr.; sister, Mary Ann; and brother, Stanley.
Alice will be missed by her family and friends. Her beloved dog, Gidget and special friends Pat, Maryanne, Shirley and Donna were special in her life. The family would also like to thank Carla Eickelberry, Kim Hosmer, PJ LeMaster, Margaret VanCamp and the staff at Kingston and Hospice of North Central Ohio for the wonderful care they provided to Alice.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Rodney A. Kreidler and Rev. Janet Chilcote of Hospice of North Central Ohio officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
