

He was born October 25, 1920 in Chester, West Virginia to Pauline and Stanley Stoy.
After graduating from Chester High School, Andrew attended Ohio Business College where he met his future wife, Eileen Varian. They were married in 1943 while he was serving in the Army Air Corps in Biloxi, Mississippi. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps as a Pilot Cadet in 1942 and served as an aerial gunnery instructor in Harlingen, Texas until the end of World War II in 1945. He and his bride then moved to Mansfield, Ohio which became their home and where they started a family. He retired from the Mansfield Tire and Rubber Company in 1977 and he and Eileen moved to Sarasota, and later Ocala, Florida.
In 1996 they moved back to Mansfield and then to Ashland in 2004.
Two of their favorite hobbies were square dancing and cruising the islands of the Caribbean.
“Andy” is survived by children, Anita Eikenberry (Mike), of Kokomo, Indiana, Timothy (Desi), of Perrysville, Ohio and Andrew (Sandy) of Wake Forest, North Carolina. A sister, Virginia Wehner of Charleston West Virginia, sister-in-law Jane Hamer of Granville, Ohio, brother-in-law, William Harvey of Newark, Ohio, and sister-in-law, Lois Ann Stoy of Downers Grove Illinois. There are also nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
In addition to his late wife Eileen, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Biela and Genevieve Franzak and four brothers Thomas, Carl, John and Stanley.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at St. Edward Catholic Church celebrated by Father Rodney S. Kreidler. Burial will follow in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities.
