She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sandra Shaffer of Georgia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susie and Danny Simones of Tennessee and Peggy and Edward Bollinger of Bellville; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; four children under her wing, Shirley Parlette of Bellville, Rick Johnson of Minnesota, Sherry Crowe of Mansfield and Gary Payne of Georgia; and Spider the cat. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Earl F. Shaffer, son, Joseph Shaffer, two sisters and one brother.
Private burial will be held at a later date in Bellville Cemetery. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County or MedCentral Hospice.
