
Annabelle Arlean Pifer, 85, died Tuesday afternoon, November 1, 2005, in the Cleveland Clinic Hospitals following an extended illness. She was born October 15, 1920 in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Augustus Albert and Ione LuVisa Young Pifer. She served her country during WWII as a W.A.V.E. in the United States Navy. Annabelle attended Fond du Lac College in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She retired from Westinghouse Corporation after forty years in the accounting department; and also had her own part-time business, Pifer Accounting Service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. The most important thing to Annabelle was the love of her family--brother, sisters, nieces and nephews. She wrote, 'They have given me a full life without a husband and children of my own'. Annabelle also enjoyed golfing and traveling throughout her life.
Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn Jack Faust of Vandalia, Ohio; nieces and their spouses, Nancy Mike Wasserman of Waterville, Margaret Mike Blackledge of Fredericktown, Heidi Steven Long of Centerville, and Dr. Holly John Hahn of Rochester, New York, Patricia Huffman of Bradenton, Florida, Barbara Blamer of Mansfield, Marjorie Carlos Cattani of Monroe, Ohio, Darlene Lotz of Mansfield; nephew Thomas Windsor of Mansfield; and numerous great-nieces and a great-nephews. Preceding Annabelle in death were her parents; a brother, George Pifer; two half sisters, Bernadine Cuppett and June Windsor; niece, Carmen Hayes; nephews, Jack F. Faust Jr., Charles F. Faust III, and Robert Windsor.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors conducted by Rev. Charles Tobias. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
