
Annie R. Chapman Stokes, age 70, 312 East Second St. died Friday morning in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a brief illness. She was born April 26, 1930 in Columbus, Mississippi to Tom and Georgia Mae Chapman living in Mansfield area most of her life. She was a member of Community Temple Church of God in Christ, as well as being a mother in the church.
Surviving are a special niece; Claudia Chapman of Mansfield, Ohio: a step-daughter; Ethel Mae Stokes of Mansfield, Ohio: a brother; Eugene and Madine Chapman of Columbus, Mississippi: a sister; Josephine Eubanks of St. Louis, Missouri: a sister-in-law; Edna Chatman and two great nieces whom she loved and raised; Toki Chapman and Tina Adkins of Mansfield, Ohio. Mrs. Stokes had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. She was preceded in death by: her husband John T. Stokes, her parents, six brothers; O.D., Tom, Robert, Sylvester, R.C. and Red Chatman, two sisters; Bernice Chapman and Estella Coffee.
Family will be receiving guests at 312 East Second Street. Wake will be held one hour prior. Funeral service will be held at Community Temple Church of God in Christ Friday May 26, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. Services will be conducted by; Elder Henry Bradley. Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors will be handling arrangements. Memorial contributions maybe made in care of the family.
