
Arch Frederick Hassig, 73, of Lexington died at home Monday evening, July 14, 2003. Mr. Hassig was born January 7, 1930 in Allen County, Indiana to John Cleveland & Lydia Froelich Hassig. He had been living in the Mansfield area the past 40 years. He retired from Ideal Electric. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Lexington Senior Center and enjoyed driving tour bus after retirement. Mr. Hassig served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Evelene Marie Gleisinger Hassig; four sons and daughters-in-law, Randall Lee Hassig & Linda Baldwin of Texas, Jeffery David Hassig of Lexington,, Michael Stephen & Charlene Hassig of Lexington and Thomas Arch & Kathleen Hassig of Dayton; seven grandchildren, Kitty, Angie, Allison, Jillian, Jason, Nicholas and Zachary; a great-granddaughter, Faith; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl Hassig of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Leroy Hassig of California, Arthur & Betty Hassig of Longview, Texas, Herman & Karlita Hassig of Huntertown, Indiana and Donald & Lois Hassig of McCombs, Ohio; and a sister, Bertha Martz of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Henry and Paul Hassig; and a sister, Esther Police.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Greg Creech. Military services will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
