
Arlene J. Scott, 76, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born December 28, 1931 in Louisa, Kentucky, she was the daughter of W.T. and Ella May Campbell. Arlene attended Madison Schools and retired from Ohio Brass after 11 ½ years of service. She had also worked at Toppers, Hartman Electric, AVI Food Company for Therm-O-Disc, and Westinghouse. Arlene attended Wyandotte Freewill Baptist Church. A hard-worker, she enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren, and was also a good housekeeper, a trait she passed on to her children. She enjoyed attending garage sales, singing, listening to Gospel music, and visiting Amish Country. When she was able, Arlene volunteered at the Senior Center in Lexington.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Farnsworth of Mansfield, and Randy Mary Farnsworth of Shreve; three daughters, Karen Dennis Rhea of Mansfield, Judy Workman of Lexington, and Cindie Bill Powell of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Promise, Amanda, Jessica, Kristen, Michael, Chris, and Matt; seven great-grandchildren, Ashlei, Aubrey Taylor, Aubrey Mae, Christina, Sammy, Mylan, and Summer; three sisters, Virginia Hollifield of Mt. Vernon, Inez Ralph Armstrong of Shelby, and Betty Harold Stout of Mansfield; host of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends; and her best friends, Marty Ferguson, and Zella Metz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duey Scott in July 1993; her parents; five sisters; and five brothers.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Brian Phillips and Arlene's nephew, Pastor Tim Stout. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Foundation.
