Arthur “Art” Boyd Adams, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 27, 2025. He was born on June 19, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Walter and Marybell (Davis) Adams. Raised in Pennsylvania, Art made Mansfield, Ohio, his home in 2009.
Art proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1978, carrying with him the values of honor, dedication, and resilience throughout his life. After his service, he worked as an assembler, retiring from Warren Rupp in 2015.
A man who loved the outdoors, Art found joy in fishing, hunting, camping, and boating. His adventurous spirit also led him to travel and explore whenever he could. Among all his passions, nothing meant more to him than the time he spent with his great-granddaughters, whose presence brought him immense happiness.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Southern Care Hospice, Nationwide Home Health Care, the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Institute, and to everyone who was part of Art’s life. Your care, compassion, and support brought him comfort and made his journey easier.
Art is survived by his wife; Earnestine (Abrams) Adams; sons, Michael (Stacy) Adams of Cranberry, PA, Paul (Brie) Adams of Greenburg, PA, and Jason (Sara) Abrams of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters whom he loved very much; his siblings, Larry (Shirley) Adams of Hermitage, PA, Dan Adams of West Middlesex. PA, Dave Adams and Sharon Adams both of Indiana, PA; and a host of nieces and nephews. Art was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Walter, Tommy, Vincent, Carolyn Adams, and Patty Fair.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 11:00 am-3:00 pm at the Life Celebration Reception Center, 129 S. Main Street. A private family graveside service will be held at Mansfield Cemetery. Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the Adams family.
