
Barbara O. Ferguson, 82, of Mansfield, died late Monday evening, October 3, 2005, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born December 19, 1922, in Boone County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Len and Dessa Harrell Beck. Mrs. Ferguson retired from Columbus Electric in 1995 after 32 years of service. She attended Peace Fellowship and enjoyed gardening, baking, fishing, playing the piano, crocheting, needlework, mushroom hunting and being outside in nature and watching the wildlife. She was active in the Democratic Party in Mansfield, former precinct committee leader, was a member of A.A.R.P. She was a family person who enjoyed staying up to date on current events.
She is survived by four daughters and their spouses, Cheryl and Eric Ricer of Mansfield, Diana and Darell Chester of Bellville, Deborah and Steven Anderson of Ashland and Kimberlie Dinninger of Mansfield; nine grandchildren, Jack W. Honse, Scott Ricer, Beth Godby, Barbara Hayslip, Amber Anderson, Ian Anderson, Hannah Foley, Nick Dinninger, Haley Schag; eleven great-grandchildren, Cody Honse, Seth Honse, Morgan Honse, Amber Weightman, Jacob Ricer, Ashley Godby, Desa Godby, William Godby, Holly Dishong, Tayler Hayslip, Graham Anderson-Reitz; and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Culver W. Ferguson of 44 years; parents; brother, Len Beck, Jr.; three sisters, Lenora Reasner, Lois Thompson, and Vivian Wilson.
Friends may call Thursday, October 6, from 5-8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Dan Dickman. Burial will follow in Lantz Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland County Democratic Party or the Salvation Army.
