Barbara Mae Thorpe Pryor, age 79, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at Ohio Eastern Star Health Care Center. Barbara was born August 13, 1924 in Ashtabula County, Ohio to the late James and Marian Johnson Thorpe. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #9943 and Amvets Post #26. Barbara was the past President of the VFW Military Order of the Cooties Post #3494.
She is survived by a son, Keith Mitchell; two step-sons, Robert Pryor and Larry Pryor both of Mansfield; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Ray Thorpe of Brookville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Ray Pryor, a stepson, Donald Warren Pryor, and a brother, Richard Thorpe.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Dr. Wray C. Smith, will be held Friday, July 23, 2004 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors at 1 pm. Friends may call one-hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Windsor Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
